This London addition extends a Victorian row house through a quiet sequence of rooms, thresholds, and garden edges. The project preserves the weight and rhythm of the existing house while introducing a lighter rear volume organized around daylight, timber, pale masonry, and planted views. A full-height glazed opening connects the kitchen, dining, and living spaces to the rear garden, allowing the interior to borrow depth from the landscape beyond.

The addition is conceived less as a contrast to the original house than as a measured continuation of it. Existing brick, narrow proportions, and domestic rituals are reinterpreted through a restrained material palette of limewashed masonry, natural timber, stone thresholds, and soft planting. A curved timber screen marks the transition between old and new, creating a moment of privacy and tactility at the garden façade.

The result is a modest but spatially generous intervention: a house that opens carefully to light, weather, and daily use while retaining the intimacy of the London terrace typology.
