HOUSE 031
LOS ANGELES, CA
2019
Set into the hillside above Los Feliz, this house is conceived as a sequence of sheltered rooms, terraces, and planted thresholds held beneath a deep timber roof. Heavy stone walls establish a quiet permanence, while large sliding openings dissolve the boundary between interior and landscape. The project works with the climate rather than against it: shade, mass, cross-ventilation, and filtered light shape the daily experience of the house. Warm timber ceilings, vertical screens, limestone surfaces, and native planting create a tactile architecture that feels both grounded and open. The house is less an object on the site than a frame for living with the slope, the garden, and the long view beyond.
