HOUSE 048
DALLAS, TX
2025
This renovation reworks an existing mid-century house in Oak Cliff through a quieter, more permeable domestic language. The original low roof, timber structure, and horizontal proportions are retained as a calm framework, while new bronze trim, galvanized metal edges, translucent polycarbonate, and exposed wood introduce a lighter infrastructural layer. Living spaces are opened toward the rear garden, allowing diffuse daylight, interior planting, and filtered views to soften the boundary between house and landscape. Gravel paths, native planting, and shaded thresholds extend the architecture outward, making the house feel less like an object and more like a sequence of rooms, porches, and garden edges.
